Are prefabricated houses economical? Without a doubt they are, and it is possible to find cheap prefabricated houses. Back in the day we told you that it was possible to find cheap prefab homes despite the economic situation. The truth is that the decision to buy a house is complicated. And the great complication arises not so much from choosing which one, but from economic considerations. We talked about how it is almost certainly the largest investment a family needs to make. That is why making this decision must be studied very carefully.

Economical prefabricated houses

As we pointed out, the decision to buy a home is one of the most complex. Finding our family home is a task to which we must dedicate a lot of effort and, above all, time. We have to be clear about what we want and above all what we need. It is not difficult to find people who regret a hasty decision. In the end they find themselves in an apartment smaller than desirable or in an area that was not at all the first option. The truth is that if we need a home in the urban area we can have few variables.

Variables that multiply if we think about having our home in a smaller town or in the countryside. This is when the option of having a prefabricated house comes into its own. The construction of a prefabricated house is more economical and ecological than traditional construction. More and more people are finding affordable prefabricated homes that fit their needs.

What is a prefabricated house, its construction

In our Blog we have already talked to you on other occasions about the history of the evolution of modular houses and their origin. It is true that until not many years ago, talking about prefabricated houses in Spain evoked traditional wooden ones. Today there is a much greater variety of prefabricated houses. Different construction systems and above all a greater diversity of materials.

To define what a prefabricated house is, we have to imagine a puzzle. The prefabricated house is manufactured in a specific plant, and its production is by modules. These modules are transported to the place where the house is going to be built. There they join together to form the home. Basically this is the process of manufacturing and building prefabricated houses. In our case, in the factory we make the concrete panels that, assembled on the plot, make up the different modules.

Why is it more ecological

With this construction system we manage to minimize the generation of waste. At the same time, by reducing execution times, the environmental impact that all work entails is reduced. Let's think that this also implies energy savings. The different machinery that must be involved in a traditional construction is limited. So the energy cost of construction is much lower.

Why is it cheaper?

The process is more economical by reducing execution times and the time needed for the work. By reducing deadlines and personnel we reduce one of the most important parts of construction budgets. Labor no longer has the same weight as in traditional construction. When we talk about economical prefabricated houses we cannot limit ourselves only to the gross cost. There are many other variables that make prefabricated homes an economic possibility. The quality of the final product is a factor that must be taken into consideration.

Different types of prefabricated houses

In today's market there are different types of prefabricated houses. These different types are due to the type of material used in their manufacture. From the well-known ones made of wood, steel, PVC and of course those made of reinforced concrete. But there are other options that range from taking advantage of freight containers or train cars. Apart from the variables regarding the material used, we have two other options that are fixed or mobile houses. This means that they can be relocated to different locations.

Without a doubt, the most durable option is prefabricated concrete houses. Durability is another factor to consider in economical prefabricated houses. The cost of a prefabricated house must be measured in its lifetime. Another great advantage of prefabricated concrete houses is that of all those on the market, they are the ones that most easily accept extensions in the future. Another factor to take into account in the economic viability of your acquisition.
