Extension and renovation of housing in Majadahonda, Madrid

This project was initially about renovating an existing 100m² home, but the owners realized that the house did not meet their needs with these dimensions. They needed more space and a custom house that could provide them with the comfort and energy savings they needed for their daily lives.

We were studying the case and according to the regulations of the municipality of Majadahonda, Madrid, they could carry out an extension linked to the existing house without any problem. The project management proposed us to make a unique building that would beautify the entire project.

Concrete facade and bamboo canes

According to the renovation and extension project, the façade of this modular house had been designed with a textured precast concrete mold. Modular Home proposed a sustainable solution, an idea that could give the project its own personality and allow for even more enjoyment, including our R+D+i in its design with bioconstruction elements.

One of the first steps was to resize the material to size and print it on the concrete. We made a proposal through a sustainable mold made from natural bamboo canes carefully placed one by one on the mold of our manufacturing panel resulting in an incredible natural texture.

The next step was to carry out a specific oxidation treatment on the main façade wall which, together with the anthracite gray details of the cover, made this work, a very special project.
