Prefabricated concrete homes with high energy efficiency

Table of Contents

Modular Home's prefabricated concrete homes have high energy efficiency. This not only means being classified or labeled by the European Commission with the letters from A to G. We should all know the repercussions it has on our pocket and the savings it means for our family. There is no point in buying a home in which consumption will then skyrocket, because it will become unsustainable and will have an impact on all aspects of our lives. This is important, and even more so now, with the skyrocketing energy prices, that's why Modular Home has created #MHSchool.

MH SCHOOL is an initiative of #modularhome to make known how we should make decisions regarding the purchase of our future home. As well as sharing our construction process of a prefabricated concrete home. Include all the innovations that we incorporate in addition to the quality controls that we carry out.

High energy efficiency through insulation and airtightness in your home

En Modular Home we carry out tests Blower Door to value the air tightness inside our homes against unwanted temperature changes between inside and outside. It can also be used to measure current between built areas, to test the tightness of air conductors and to help physically locate air escape sites in the building envelope. The Blower Door airtightness test is an essential requirement for a home to obtain certification @passivhaus. This certification qualifies almost zero consumption buildings at an international level. This means that it is a highly energy efficient home. With this we are able to evaluate the degree of air permeability. Because what we are looking for is a highly energy efficient home, without leaks and with low losses due to air filtration. Air tightness testing is normally intended for residential constructions. Although it is increasingly becoming common in commercial and industrial constructions.

How to measure watertightness inside a home

The test, called Blower Door test, is carried out in a building with all the doors and windows closed, and consists of adjusting a canvas in a gap in the façade, generally the main door, where a fan is installed. calibrated that performs the task of pressurizing or depressurizing the building until reaching a pressure difference of 50 Pascals between the outside and the inside. The outside air will enter through any crack in the envelope and sensors will detect the change in pressure, sending the information to software that will record the results indicating the degree of air permeability of the construction.

The Blower Door test guarantees almost zero consumption of our home supplies

This construction standard limits air renewals per hour of 0,6 pascals of pressure to 50, at the value 50. These are very demanding values that require exhaustive control during the execution of the work. If the test does not reach the required values, it will be understood that the home suffers air leaks and that the quality of the execution of the property's envelope has not been adequate, so the building will not obtain the Passivhaus seal. Energy efficiency is surpassed. However, we have an approved team, with extensive experience, that carries out rigorous data analysis and interpretation. If there are leaks, we find them and correct them in the construction phase, ensuring that 95% of our homes can be classified as Passivehaus with a low consumption energy certification.
